San Francisco Health Plan Appoints New Chief Medical Officer
Dr. James Glauber will provide medical leadership delivering guidance and oversight in the health plan's mission of serving the underserved
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP), a community health plan serving over 125,000 San Francisco residents, announced today, that James Glauber, MD, MPH, will serve as the plan's Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Glauber brings over 20 years of clinical experience and administrative guidance to SFHP. Most recently, he led and strengthened utilization management practices at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. His extensive experience includes administration of disease and care management programs, pharmacy programs, and provider management along with directing clinical quality measurements and reporting.

Dr. Glauber spent thirteen years at Neighborhood Health Plan in Boston, Massachusetts, which is a SFHP sister plan in the Association of Community Affiliated Plans. Consumer Reports has consistently rated Neighborhood Health Plan among the top six Medicaid plans nationwide.
Dr. Glauber earned his medical degree from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency training at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed fellowship training at Harvard Medical School in the Clinical Effectiveness Program and earned a Master's in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health. He has served on numerous committees and presented on the state of health care at various forums.
