San Francisco 49ers tops first-ever IntPicks.com NFL Power Ratings

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- After finishing last season just five yards away from winning its sixth Super Bowl, the San Francisco 49ers find themselves as the team to beat in the 2013 NFL season. That's according to a leading sports handicapping firm, which has simulated the upcoming season and developed an exclusive power ranking system to determine the league's best team.

These simulations predict a fierce battle between the 49ers and the second-ranked Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West title and a strong performance in general from NFC teams. Each game of the regular season was simulated by the staff of seasoned statisticians for 20,000 times, and teams were given a weighted ranking from 1 to 99 for its offense, defense, special teams and coaching based on their projected performance. The outcomes from the simulations led to the teams' overall ranking as well projected Win/Loss record for the season.
