SAN DIEGO, Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced the official opening of the college's 3M Sales Lab. The college's newly constructed state-of-the art sales lab is designed to provide students with the opportunity to practice and improve their presentation skills through the use of video technology and live feedback.
The lab consists of a presentation/meeting room and an observation area which are connected by a two-way mirror. It will also serve as a valuable resource for College of Business' faculty and students conducting research in the fields of consultative selling, sales management and negotiation, as well as customer behavior and decision making.
The SDSU facility is the most recent in a series of sales labs 3M has funded at major universities, including the University of Houston, Indiana University, North Carolina A&T University, St. Catherine University, University of Toledo, Tuskegee and Xavier of Louisiana.
"The 3M Sales Lab will offer a significant learning opportunity for our students and will provide an outstanding environment for our faculty to conduct their research," said Dr. Dennis Cradit, dean of SDSU's College of Business Administration. "SDSU is committed to expanding and evolving our educational offerings to meet the ever-changing demands of the global marketplace. We are grateful to 3M and their foundation for providing us with this outstanding opportunity to prepare our students for their roles as future business leaders."
SDSU is one of 14 universities that participate in the 3M Frontline Sales Initiative program and recently began offering a specialization in professional selling and sales management. The specialization resides in the SDSU's College of Business' marketing department and has grown to include nearly 100 students since it was established in 2013.
