San Diego Fleet Week Foundation Renews Race Production Contract With HMSA For Prestigious Coronado Speed Festival
SAN DIEGO, June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The San Diego Fleet Week Foundation has renewed race production for the prestigious Coronado Speed Festival with Historic Motor Sports Association ('HMSA'). The 16th annual event is scheduled for September 21 and 22, 2013.
The event takes place on Naval Air Station North Island, in Coronado, a small, picturesque community of San Diego. This Fleet Week San Diego event is one-of-a-kind, and the only race car and military tribute event in the United States.
HMSA will produce and sanction the event. Cris Vandagriff, president of HMSA states, "We are thrilled to continue working with the Foundation and the US Navy. This event is special and unique; I cannot imagine a more celebrated event and location than the Coronado Speed Festival."
This year's event will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911, one of the most iconic and recognized automobiles of all time. In addition to special Porsche racing cars, the event will feature over 250 historic race cars from the golden age of the automobile.
