Indoor and Outdoor Soccer Working Together for Common Goal
SAN DIEGO, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- San Diego Boca FC today announced today that it has reached an agreement with the San Diego Sockers to form a Community soccer partnership to serve the San Diego Soccer Community. Both organizations with their respective indoor and outdoor soccer markets have the goal and common understanding of working together to promote and develop professional and youth soccer throughout the San Diego market.
An annual friendly match in San Diego between the clubs (date to be announced) is another highlight of the partnership. Other components include cross promotional opportunities, clinics and SD Boca FC and San Diego Sockers player appearances in San Diego County throughout the year.
Yan Skwara, President/GM of San Diego Boca FC stated, "We are very excited to be working hand in hand with the San Diego Sockers as they are a storied indoor franchise with a rich indoor soccer history going back many years. Being two professionally operated indoor and outdoor soccer organizations in the community, it's important to join forces and work together for a common goal which is the promotion and development of soccer in the San Diego market. Boca FC's National Premier Soccer League, (NPSL), season runs from April to July, while the Sockers Professional Arena Soccer League, (PASL), indoor season runs from November to March. The season schedule for both clubs allows for some very creative off season cross marketing opportunities that will enhance tickets sales, sponsorship, fan support and also allow selected players on each club to play year-round."
Phil Salvagio, GM/Head Coach of the San Diego Sockers stated, "We are looking forward to working with our new outdoor partner in San Diego Boca FC, as it is a relationship that will be beneficial to the community and our respective organizations. We will look to develop marketing opportunities, ideas and player development programs for both sides. We will kick this relationship off this weekend as SD Boca FC will have multiple marketing opportunities at this weekend's PASL championship games being held at the Del Mar Arena. We expect a big crowd and look forward to adding a trophy to our bookcase."
