Samuel Yu Joins STV as Vice President

NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Samuel S. Yu, CCM, DBIA, LEED® AP BD+C,  a construction industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in the federal, state and local markets, has joined STV as a vice president/Western Territory manager in the firm's Construction Management Division. He will report directly to Steve Pressler, P.E., executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Construction Management Division, and will oversee regional operations out of the firm's Los Angeles office.

Yu will assist in the overall management and growth of the Construction Management Division's western operations. He brings over 20 years of construction and project management experience, particularly in major public works projects as well as educational, industrial and federal facilities. He has served as project executive and principal-in-charge on numerous multi-billion dollar programs for a range of clients, including the California Department of General Services, Los Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles World Airports, Los Angeles Community College District, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and others.

Yu was recognized by the Western Council of Construction Consumers and The Associated General Contractors of America for his role in overseeing the construction of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's award-winning Flight Projects Center Building, which also attained LEED® Gold certification.

Prior to joining STV, Yu served as an area manager/associate overseeing operations for the Los Angeles area for a Sacramento-based construction management firm. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California and is a member of the Construction Management Association of America, Design-Build Institute of America, Asian American Architects/Engineers Association, U.S. Green Building Council and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
