In-club screenings available to members and guests on March 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
BENTONVILLE, Ark., March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Warm weather will soon be on its way, bringing joy to many people looking forward to the sunshine and blossoming flowers. However, the changing of seasons also marks the onset of spring allergies for more than 40 million Americans. On Saturday, March 12, Sam's Club will be offering free allergy health screenings in select locations across the country from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.*
"At Sam's Club, we are proud to offer our members the opportunity to take control of their health with free monthly health screenings and great quality products at amazing prices," said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president, Sam's Club Health and Wellness. "This month we hope all our members will take advantage of the chance to get tested for allergies."
Those who opt to get screened for allergies will be tested for house and dust mites, cat, timothy grass, Bermuda grass, Mountain Cedar, short ragweed, Alternaria (mold), milk, egg white and wheat. The value of the tests is $500, and all participants will receive a personalized plan, called MyAllergyPlan, that will provide educational information on the offending allergens and consumer care organizations that relate to specific allergies.
Sam's Club pharmacy aisles provide members with access to a wide variety of valued products to help treat allergy symptoms that may include sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes and itchy nose or throat. Many people who experience allergy symptoms find relief from over-the-counter allergy medications, including Allegra® which is now available without a prescription on pharmacy shelves. Pharmacists are also available to help members with all their health and wellness solutions.
Sam's Club will continue to host different free monthly health screenings throughout the year, including:
- Diabetes
- Digestive Health
