Salvation Army and The Heat and Warmth Fund Gifts Put a Bow On "Season of Giving"
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Dec. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Financial Credit Union announced the final gifts of its 2011 "Season of Giving" program, recently presenting donations to the Plymouth Salvation Army and The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW).
To wrap up the program, Community Financial presented a $1,500 check to the Plymouth Salvation Army and $7,400 to THAW to support its work in northern and southern Michigan. During the "Season of Giving," Community Financial donated $50,000 to groups in the areas the credit union serves, including Plymouth, Canton, Northville, Novi, Gaylord, Hillman, and Lewiston.
"We know that there are a tremendous number of deserving organizations in all of our communities and we wish we could donate to all of them," said Bill Lawton, Community Financial president and CEO. "But we are thankful to be able to help those organizations in this year's program, and we look forward to giving back to many more in the future."
The groups receiving donations this year included: the Plymouth Community Foundation; Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Educational Excellence Foundation; the Canton Community Foundation; Northville Educational Foundation; Novi Educational Foundation; Northville Community Foundation; Love INC in Novi; Gaylord, Hillman, Atlanta, Jo-Berg and Lewiston schools, Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan, Otsego County Community Foundation and food pantries in Canton, Gaylord, Hillman, Lewiston, Northville and Novi.
