UMaine Black Bears, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine Announce New Partnership
ORONO, Maine, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The UMaine Black Bears and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine have teamed up this winter on a program which recognizes Maine's community heroes.
"Anthem's Community Angels is a program that recognizes everyday heroes—people in our local community who have led, created, or otherwise been instrumental in activities that make help our community better," said Justin Barnes, general manager, Black Bear Sports Properties.
He added that the Black Bears are now accepting nominations for the award. Fans can submit nominations by emailing [email protected] with "Community Angels" in the subject line.
Honorees will receive tickets to a Black Bears home game where they will be recognized and receive a framed UMaine Hockey jersey. Anthem will also make a $500.00 donation to the non-profit of the honoree's choice.
