Salud Digna is Recognized at Gala for 35th Anniversary of the Latin Business Association
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the Gala for the 35th Anniversary of the "Latin Business Association" (LBA), held in Los Angeles, California this past October 8th, the health services institution Digna Salud received special recognition.
Salud Digna is a company that was founded in Sinaloa, Mexico in 2003. The success of its services and the growing demand for them prompted its founder Jesus Vizcarra Calderon to consider expanding its capacity for care, and to decide on doing so.
Set up as a Private Healthcare Institution (IAP - Institucion de Asistencia Privada), it was staffed to perform ultrasound, papanicolaou and densitometry tests, as well as vision exams, with care from a group of doctors and health professionals.
Once the operation was consolidated in a number of cities in Sinaloa, it was decided to expand the institution's services to Baja California and subsequently into other regions of Mexico, until there were 19 clinics. This November, Salud Digna will be opening its first clinic in the United States, to be located in Huntington Park, in Los Angeles, California.
The growth of Salud Digna has been possible thanks to its self-sustaining operations model, based on:
- Maintaining the best providers, cutting edge technology and the most highly skilled personnel, to offer caring and humane treatment for all patients.
- With costs that are between one third and one tenth of market prices, thanks to making the most out of installed capacity.
The operations model has been taken as a case study at Harvard Business School and at IPADE in Mexico.
Salud Digna has managed to provide care to more than 1 million patients, and growth of 60% is projected for 2012.
At Salud Digna, the following services are offered: clinical laboratory analysis, ultrasound, mastography, densitometry, X-ray, tomography, Papanicolaou, electrocardiograms, vision exams and corrective lenses. In this way it contributes to the prevention and early detection of many diseases such as: cancer, diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis and many others.
