Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert declared the week of October 19-25 as End Polio Now Week. "The Hero Dash is a great fundraising event and the Utah Rotary's Zombie Run is a great cause too. When we heard about what the Utah Rotary is doing we wanted to find a way to participate in and support this great cause," said Dan Farr, Salt Lake Comic Con Founder and Show Producer. "We're happy to partner with the Utah Rotary for this event and work together to help support a great cause. What would have been two great events is now going to be one epic event that will raise a lot of money and awareness in the fight against polio, cancer research and support Operation Underground Railroad. "
Registration includes entrance to the run, a The Hero Dash t-shirt, a race bib, car decal and more gear and prizes from race sponsors. Registration packets can be picked up the day before The Hero Dash and on site.
"This combined effort will be fun for fans and supporters while raising a lot of money and awareness for worthy causes," said Bryan Brandenburg, Salt Lake Comic Con Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer. "Salt Lake Comic Con fans are passionate about pop culture, heroes, zombies and supporting good causes and this run will satisfy all these appetites with one event.
