FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient), a leading provider of information technology and engineering services that include data analytics, agile development, mobility, training, and cyber security solutions to the intelligence, defense, homeland security, and federal civilian markets, announces that Sujey Edward and Paul Bander will present today at the Association for Enterprise Information (AFEI) event, Agile in Government Summit, in Springfield, VA. The topic is "Fixed Price Agile Procurement: Where COs and Technologists Can Thrive."
This year's focus is on adapting agile to acquisition and acquisition to agile. Mr. Edward and Mr. Bander will provide attendees a session on how federal contracting best practices often times do not align with the Agile delivery philosophy. This session will provide real world knowledge that will help attendees get what they need no matter what side of the contract they are on.
"The flexibility, ability to prioritize, and timely delivery of working software afforded by Agile supersedes the value of traditional software methodologies. Despite the verifiable benefits Agile has brought to Federal Information Technology (IT) projects, procuring these services is increasingly complex," says Mr. Edward. "Agencies are faced with an overwhelming amount of complicated paperwork, measurements, and approvals. Paul and I together created a "Fixed Price Agile" procurement option that allows both technologists and contracting officers to meet their separate requirements, while achieving their common goals."
Mr. Edward, Vice President of Salient's Agile Center of Excellence (ACoE) and Agile Solutions, leads the ACoE implementing process on federal and commercial programs. He has served as an Agile coach organizations including: The Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation, Defense Logistics Agency, and Fidelity Investments. Mr. Bander, Vice President, Contracts and Pricing leads teams in developing and implementing winning pricing strategies across Salient. He has held senior leadership positions at BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and Federal Data Corporation.
