Sal Tripi of Publishers Clearing House Elected to Chair OTA Board of Directors
Leadership to Continue Online Trust Alliance's Goal of Making User Security and Privacy Part of Every Company's Brand Promise
SEATTLE, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Online Trust Alliance (OTA) today announced the election of Sal Tripi, assistant vice president digital operations and compliance, Publishers Clearing House as its 2012-2013 Chairman of the Board, effective September 1. Tripi succeeds TrustSphere CEO Manish Goel, who served as Chairman since 2009 and who will continue to support OTA's mission of advocating best practices of online privacy and security in his new role as Vice Chairman. The OTA board plans to expand OTA's scope and impact worldwide; Tripi and Goel's first action will be to kick off and co-host the 2012 Online Trust Forum in San Jose, October 1-3, joining over 50 speakers and luminaries committed to consumer protection and the vitality of online commerce.
As Chairman, Tripi will oversee the Board and provide strategic direction to Executive Director and President Craig Spiezle, fulfilling OTA's mission to educate and enable the ecosystem enhancing online trust, data protection, privacy and innovation. Toward these goals, OTA supports a multi-stakeholder approach and commitment to shared responsibilities including meaningful and accountable self-regulation. OTA is focused on several initiatives including: securing the integrity of the advertising supply chain, email and domain security, data protection & breach readiness planning, the annual Online Trust Honor & Trust Index benchmark reports, and programming & education.
