Saint Jude Retreats Introduces New York City Program

AMSTERDAM, N.Y., Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Saint Jude Retreats has launched a new social education program in New York City, New York. Similar to its home-based online program and residential retreats, the SJ Program is an alternative to outpatient addiction treatment.

"It is the first program in New York City of its kind," said Daniel Hidalgo, senior marketing director for Saint Jude Retreats. "This program is geared towards the business executive that lives in the metro New York City area and can't leave their home, work and family obligations for six weeks to attend one of our retreats in Upstate New York."

The 25-class program uses an office setting in Manhattan where participants receive one-on-one instruction in how to gain freedom from alcohol and drug issues and rebuild their life. It is not a 12-step program and does not follow the theory of drug rehab and alcohol treatment centers that people who have problems with substance use have a disease. It also does not require them to attend regular meetings for the rest of their lives.

The SJ Program can be used in conjunction with or instead of the online Saint Jude Retreats program. It is completely confidential and there are no attendance records kept, since it is a non-medical, private educational program.
