SAIC Delivers Certified Physical Security System to Protect Air Force Assets at Tinker Air Force Base
MCLEAN, Va., July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today that it has successfully delivered a certified physical security system to protect critical assets at Tinker Air Force Base (AFB) under the Electronic Systems Center's Force Protection Security System (FPS2) contract.
The FPS2 contract provides enhanced force and asset protection through the use of integrated base defense capabilities at fixed and tactical sites around the world.
"The successful turnover of this system, the first under the FPS2 contract, helps the Air Force accomplish its ultimate goal of providing its security forces with the capability to 'See First, Understand First, and Act First'," said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
This project included the design, installation, integration and testing of closed circuit television, access control, and intrusion detection systems, as well as command, control and display equipment. SAIC will provide one year of follow-on logistics support for the system.
