Company to Provide Information Technology Support and Services to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded two task orders by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to support the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Office of Information Technology (OIT). The task orders were awarded under the DHS EAGLE contract and have a total value of $233 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Washington, D.C.
USCIS establishes immigration services, policies and priorities. The agency supports the processing of applications and petitions for immigration benefits and other associated processes, including employment authorization, resident alien processing and citizenship application and processing for naturalization. OIT provides automated benefits systems and information technology (IT) solutions that support USCIS personnel in these processes.
Under the first task order, valued at $183 million over five years, SAIC will continue to help USCIS modernize its service management framework to deliver a secure, integrated technology and management approach. The broad range of IT services SAIC provides will help USCIS maintain and operate its infrastructure, enhance security, migrate to consolidated data centers and assist in the transformation of USCIS to modern business and infrastructure standards.
Under the second task order, valued at $50 million over 57 months, SAIC will continue to help USCIS transition from a decentralized application environment to a service-oriented architecture environment for enterprisewide applications and systems to improve efficiencies and services. Services will include end user requirements analysis; business process development; testing; and systems engineering, design and development.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to work with USCIS to help deliver IT capabilities to enhance their mission to bring lawful immigration and citizenship services to freedom seeking people," said Doug Wagoner, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
