SAIC Awarded Task Order by National Institutes of Health
Company to Provide Software and Technical Support to the Center for Scientific Review
MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today its was awarded a follow-on task order by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to provide software and technical support to the Center for Scientific Review (CSR). The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity task order has a six month base period of performance, 9 six-month options and a total contract ceiling of more than $24 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in Bethesda, Md. The task order was awarded under NIH's Chief Information Officer-Solutions and Partners (CIO-SP2) contract.
The CSR is the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific merit. It organizes the peer review groups or study sections that evaluate the majority of the research grant applications sent to NIH. It also receives all grant applications for NIH, as well as for some other components of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Under the task order, SAIC will support the CSR as required in areas including software and web development, network administration, and desktop and help desk assistance.
