SAIC Awarded Contract to Support the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command
Company to Help Maintain and Enhance Shipboard Network Infrastructure and Information Technology (IT) Systems
MCLEAN, Va., June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems (SPAWAR) Command to provide services in support of SPAWAR's Common Afloat Local Area Network Infrastructure (CALI). The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a four year base period of performance, an optional four-year ordering period, and a total value of more than $502 million for SAIC, if the option is exercised. SAIC's work will be performed primarily in San Diego, Calif.
The purpose of the CALI contracts is to procure shipboard network infrastructure and related engineering support services in areas including production, engineering, and common computing environment components. These contracts are part of an overall U.S. Navy initiative to update and replace legacy computer and data networking systems aboard its surface ships and submarines. These systems include the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System – Maritime (CENTRIXS-M); Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS); Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Networks; Navy Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS); Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR); and the Submarine Local Area Network (SubLAN). Under the contract, SAIC will provide integrated logistics support; configuration management; test and evaluation; quality assurance; and installation support as required.
