SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic
Company to Provide Non-Inherently Governmental Services and Solutions to the Business and Force Support (BFS) Portfolio
MCLEAN, Va., June 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SSC Atlantic) to provide non-inherently governmental services and solutions to the Business and Force Support (BFS) Portfolio. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a 12-month base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $900 million for all awardees, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Charleston, S.C.
SSC Atlantic supports solutions to meet the nation's demands for uninterrupted vigilance, fail-safe cybersecurity, adaptive response and engineering excellence by delivering secure, integrated and innovative solutions to many naval, joint and national agencies.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide full-system, life-cycle support, including equipment and services; research, development, test, evaluation, production and fielding of sustainable, secure, survivable, and interoperable command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance information operations; and enterprise information services and space capabilities. SAIC is one of 15 awardees that will compete for task orders under the contract.
