SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic
Company to Integrate and Provide Technical Support Services for Tactical Vehicles
MCLEAN, Va., May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic to provide engineering and prototyping integration, software integration, and technical support services for tactical vehicles. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $698 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Charleston, S.C., with potential tasking at U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps facilities worldwide.
SSC Atlantic provides knowledge superiority to join warfighters and peacekeepers through development, acquisition, and life-cycle support of effectively integrated command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, information technology and space capabilities.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide engineering, prototype integration (hardware/software), product improvement and test and evaluation support services, as required. SAIC will modernize and introduce transformational technologies into systems and technical support services for the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) requirements of SSC Atlantic's Enterprise Systems Engineering-Net Centric Engineering and Integration and the Command and Control Competencies. SAIC will help support programs including the U.S. Marine Corps high-mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicle; the joint explosive ordnance disposal rapid response vehicle; mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles; and other U.S. Department of Defense vehicle platforms. SAIC is one of two contractors who will compete for task orders under this contract.
