SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic
Company to Provide Naval Networking and Joint Base Services Support
MCLEAN, Va., March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic to provide networking, joint base and technology transition services in support of the warfighter. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a cumulative total for all orders of approximately $230 million, if all options are exercised.
SSC Atlantic provides knowledge superiority to joint warfighters and peacekeepers through the development, acquisition and life cycle support of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, Information Technology (IT) and space capabilities. Under the contract, SAIC will provide joint basing and technology transition support as required, including: program management, C4ISR systems support, material technology and testing support, IT services, joint warfighter advanced training and education support, and technology road mapping. SAIC is one of four contractors eligible to compete for task orders under the contract.
