SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Patent And Trademark Office (USPTO)
Company to Provide Software Development Integration and Testing Services, Helping Modernize Legacy Systems
MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to provide software development integration and testing services in support of the USPTO's Automated Information Systems. The multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total ceiling value of $525 million for all awardees, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The USPTO advises the President of the United States, the Secretary of Commerce, and government agencies on intellectual property (IP) policy, protection, and enforcement; and promotes strong and effective IP protection. Under the contract, SAIC will provide software development integration and testing services as required in areas including configuration and program management, production support, and software maintenance and transition. SAIC will also help integrate commercial technology products with customized software and database applications as needed. SAIC is one of five companies eligible to compete for future task orders under the contract.
