SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division
Company to Provide Lifecycle Engineering and Management Solutions in Support of the Ship Systems Engineering Station (SSES) Philadelphia
MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division to provide lifecycle engineering and management solutions in support of the Ship Systems Engineering Station (SSES) Philadelphia. The single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, two-one year options, and a contract ceiling value of more than $10 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center in Pennsylvania.
The NSWC Carderock Division provides research, development, test and evaluation, analysis, acquisition support, in-service engineering, logistics and integration of surface and undersea vehicles and associated systems. Under the contract, SAIC will provide lifecycle engineering and management solutions as needed to support the implementation and execution of enabling technology programs under development at SSES Philadelphia. SAIC will also provide professional engineering and technical services required to develop and integrate enhancements to the U.S. Navy's Remote Monitoring, Condition Assessments Systems, Shipboard Network Protection Systems and other efforts related to Navy modernization programs.
