SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Company to Provide Information Technology (IT) Support to the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) Program
MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide information technology (IT) services in support of the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) program. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a five-year base period of performance and a ceiling value of $12 billion.
The T4 program enables the VA to transform its IT infrastructure, resulting in improved quality of health care and benefits services to veterans, their families and survivors. Under the contract, SAIC will provide IT services as required, including services needed to integrate systems, networks, software and other IT products. The services and IT products may cover the entire life-cycle of a system, and include program management, strategic planning, systems and software engineering, cybersecurity, operations and maintenance, and IT facility support. SAIC is one of 15 contractors that will compete for task orders under the contract.
