SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency
Company to Provide Measurement and Signature Intelligence Services
MCLEAN, Va., July 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) to provide measurement and signature intelligence services in support of the National Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT) Office. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance and four one-year options. Work will be performed primarily in the National Capital Region.
The DIA is the central agency for MASINT collection within the U.S. Intelligence Community. It provides military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners within the Department of Defense. Under the contract, SAIC will provide measurement and signature intelligence services, as required, to assist DIA in executing its responsibilities as the MASINT functional manager for the intelligence community. SAIC is one of five contractors that will compete for task orders under the contract. This new contract will allow SAIC and its team to continue it's over 15 years of support to this critical intelligence area.
