SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command
Company to Continue Support of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs
MCLEAN, Va., June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a follow-on contract by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) to provide scientific and other support services to the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The single award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a two year base period of performance, three one-year options, and a contract ceiling of more than $61 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Frederick, Md.
The CDMRP is a unique partnership among the U.S. Congress, the public, and the military to support untapped research opportunities to push science and medicine to the leading edge of innovation by finding and funding the best research. Under the contract, SAIC will continue to collaborate with the CDMRP and provide scientific and funding cycle support of these research efforts.
