SAIC Awarded Contract by Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific
Company to Provide Network Engineering Services in Support of Specialized Information Systems and Technology Programs
MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific to provide engineering services in support of ashore and afloat networks and information systems. The multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a three year base period of performance, two one-year options, and a total contract ceiling of $45 million for all awardees, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in San Diego, Calif.
SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific is the U.S. Navy's designated technical authority and acquisition command for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR), business information technology and space systems. It provides advanced communications and information capabilities across naval, joint and coalition forces. Under the contract, SAIC will provide technical support as required for tasks associated with shipboard wide area networks, programs associated with developing and maintaining local area networks, and future technology development and technical services for specialized networks outside of the Navy Marine Corp Intranet. SAIC is one of two companies eligible to compete for future task orders.
