SAIC Awarded Contract By General Services Administration (GSA)
Company to provide telecommunication equipment and support services worldwide
MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] today announced it has been awarded a competitive indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide telecommunication equipment and support services. The multiple-award contract has a period of performance of three years, three months base period of performance, with six one year options, and a not-to-exceed ordering contract ceiling value of $5 billion for all awardees, if all options are exercised.
"This contract award is an opportunity for SAIC to continue our long time support of GSA and its government customers," said Jim Cuff, executive vice president for Business Development, Strategy, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Government agencies will use the Connections II contract to meet their equipment, building, and campus telecommunications infrastructure needs both within the continental United States and in foreign countries with the approval of the task order Contracting Officer. Connections II will also provide professional services to support existing networks and design customized client-specific solutions in both unclassified and classified environments.
SAIC designed and implemented some of the Federal Government's largest military and civilian networks. These networks range from metropolitan, campus and local-area networks to world-wide carrier-grade backbone networks. For the DoD, the company has transitioned nearly 1.5 million services from FTS 2001 to Networx.
