SAIC Awarded Contract By Federal Emergency Management Agency

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide training delivery services in support of the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP).  The single-award cost-plus award-fee and fixed price contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $52 million, if all options are exercised.  Work will be performed primarily in Anniston, Ala.

The CDP identifies, develops, tests, and delivers training to state, local, and tribal emergency response providers; provides on-site and mobile training at the performance, management, and planning levels; and facilitates the delivery of training by the training partners of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  SAIC has been the primary contractor for training delivery and operations support at the CDP since its inception.

Under the contract, SAIC will continue to provide training delivery services including course delivery; Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological Training Facility instruction; instructor selection, training, certification, and sustainment; equipment management and logistical support; and safety operations and management.  Training services will be provided to emergency response disciplines including emergency management, emergency medical services, fire services, governmental administrative, hazardous materials, healthcare, law enforcement, public health, public safety communications, and public works.
