SAIC Awarded Contract by Department Of State
Company to Provide Software Engineering Development, Modernization, and Enhancement Services
MCLEAN, Va., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the United States Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA), Office of Consular Systems and Technology (CST) to provide software engineering development, modernization, and enhancement (DME); and technical and operations support services for CA's visa, American citizen services, and passport business processes. The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a contract ceiling value of approximately $750 million.
CA's mission is to protect the lives and interests of U.S. citizens abroad and to strengthen the security of U.S. borders through the vigilant adjudication of visas and passports. Under the contract, SAIC will provide development, modernization, enhancement and technology support services to CST in support of its information technology infrastructure. SAIC is one of nine contractors who will compete for task orders under the contract.
