SAIC Awarded Contract by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Company to Provide Broad Range of Technical Services to Help Agency Upgrade Information Management Systems
MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a new prime contract by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide technical services to help the agency modernize its information management systems. The multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a two-year base period of performance, four two-year options, and a total ceiling value of $3 billion for all awardees of the information management domain.
CDC's mission is to protect and promote health by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability. As a respected provider of timely, scientifically-based, and trusted health information and data, the agency relies on large information technology (IT) systems for information collection, storage and exchange. Under the CDC Information Management Services (CIMS) contract, Information Management Domain, SAIC is one of 11 companies eligible to compete for future task orders to provide a broad range of technical services. These services will include requirements analysis, systems design and development, database analysis and management, information security and user training to support the CDC's IT strategic plan.
