SAIC Awarded Contract By Battlespace Flight Services, LLC
Company to Provide Operations and Maintenance Services in Support of the Air Combat Command Remotely Piloted Aircraft
MCLEAN, Va., June 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced it was awarded a subcontract by Battlespace Flight Services, LLC to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services in support of the Air Combat Command (ACC) Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA). The single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity subcontract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, one six-month extension option, and a total contract value of $95 million, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at international locations.
Battlespace Flight Services is the incumbent provider for the United States Air Force's (USAF) MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft. This program supports the USAF Air Combat Command, the Air National Guard, and other major command and combatant command customers. Under the contract, SAIC will provide O&M maintenance of RPA communications systems including Fixed Site Satcom Terminal (FSST) and Satcom Earth Terminal Subsystem (SETSS) ground satellite systems to support Predator, Reaper and Global Hawk operations.
