MCLEAN, Va., June 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a follow-on contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic to provide program management and technical services to SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic's Tactical Command and Control Division, Rapid Capability Insertion (RCI) operation. The single-award contract has a one-year base period of performance, a single one-year option, and a total value of more than $94 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in Charleston and Orangeburg, S.C.; Warren, Mich.; Albany, Ga.; and Quantico, Va.
SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic's RCI operation focuses on shortening the lead time of delivering command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) integrated vehicles to the warfighter. It works to reduce vehicle lead time by consolidating the integration of multiple C4ISR and counter improvised explosive device (CIED) systems into one location/organization. The RCI operation is utilized by the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and the Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Under the contract, SAIC will provide program support in areas including program management, engineering, logistics, integration, and test and evaluation.
"We look forward to continuing our support of SPAWAR by providing quality services that help shorten the lead time of delivering critical C4ISR capabilities to the warfighter," said Debbie James, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
