SAIC Awarded $73 Million Contract by U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey
Company to Provide Software Engineering Maintenance and Management Services in Support of the Product Manager for Joint Personnel Identification (PM JPI)
MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey to provide software engineering maintenance and management services in support of the Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) managed by the Product Manager for Joint Personnel Identification (PM JPI). The single-award firm-fixed price (FFP), cost plus fixed fee (CPFF) and cost reimbursement (CR) task order has an eight-month base period of performance with a one-year option, and a total contract value of $73 million, if the option is exercised. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Army's Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) Information Technology Enterprise Solutions - 2 Services (ITES-2S) contract vehicle. Work will be performed primarily in Alexandria, Va., Williamsburg, Va., Charleston, S.C., Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Fairmont, W.Va.
PM JPI will provide the U.S. Military with a tactical biometric collection capability to capture biometric data and enroll them into the Department of Defense's (DoD) enterprise authoritative biometric database. PM JPI will aid in positively identifying and verifying the identity of actual or potential adversaries. Under the contract, SAIC will provide software engineering maintenance and management services in support of PM JPI QRCs, including sustainment of the specified design criteria and quality standards of PM JPI.
