SAIC Awarded $52 Million Task Order to Support USDA Farm Services Agency
Company to Develop Web-Based Applications to Help Manage Conservation Programs
MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced that it was awarded a task order by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to provide information technology (IT) services to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA). The task order has a one year base period of performance, four one year options and a total contract value of more than $52 million if all options are exercised. The task order was awarded under GSA's Alliant contract. Work will be performed primarily in Kansas City, Mo.
The Farm Service Agency administers and manages farm commodity, credit, conservation, disaster and loan programs for farmers and ranchers. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of the agricultural industry and to help farmers adjust production to meet demand. Under the task order, SAIC will develop web-based applications that enable FSA employees to administer the application process for conservation programs. The applications will manage the process flow of the programs; provide summary reports and evaluation; and facilitate the selection and approval of applications.
