SAIC Awarded $40 Million Task Order to Support Department of Homeland Security US-Visit Program
Company to Provide Systems Engineering Services To Help Enhance Operational Effectiveness
MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a task order by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Protection and Programs Directorate, to provide systems engineering services to the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program. The task order has a nine-month base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total value of $40 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in the National Capital Region. The task order was awarded under the DHS EAGLE contract.
US-VISIT supports DHS's mission to protect the United States by providing biometric identification services to federal, state and local government decision makers to help them accurately identify the people they encounter and determine whether those people pose a risk to the U.S. Under this task order, SAIC will provide a range of systems engineering services in the areas of infrastructure capacity planning, architecture development and alignment, information systems security and systems assurance.
