SAIC Awarded $39 Million Task Order by Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)
Company to Provide Engineering and Technical Services In Support of Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 8, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it was awarded a task order by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to provide engineering and technical services to the Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Office (PMA-262). This task has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total value of more than $39 million, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and at government sites as required. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Navy's Seaport-e contract.
PMA-262 manages the development, production, fielding, and sustainment of all persistent maritime UAS, including the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System (BAMS UAS), the BAMS Demonstrator (BAMS-D) programs, and other high-altitude, long-endurance UAS. Under the task order, SAIC will support these programs by providing specialized services in areas including systems engineering, analysis, development, integration, testing, and fleet introduction.
