SAIC Awarded $24 Million Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic Contract
Company to Support Veterans Affairs Benefits Integrated Product Team
MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it was awarded a task order by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic to provide Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefits Integrated Product Team (IPT), Chapter 33 long-term solution (LTS) engineering and program support. The contract has a one-year base period of performance, two one-year options, and a total value of more than $24 million if both options are exercised. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services (ITES-2S) contract.
The VA Benefits IPT helps provide veterans the benefits and services they have earned through military service. Under the contract, SAIC will provide technical and engineering support, as well as the application development and operational services required to develop, manage and enhance new functionalities for VA benefit systems, including Chapter 33 LTS. SAIC will also help manage systems engineering and program development processes in accordance with industry best practices.
