SAIC Awarded $22 Million Task Order by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Company to Provide Operational and Maintenance Network Support Services to the National Institutes of Health Center for Information Technology
MCLEAN, Va., May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a task order by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide network support services to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Center for Information Technology (CIT), Division of Network Systems and Telecommunications (DNST). The single-award contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a contract value of approximately $22 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in the National Capital Region. The task order was awarded under the Chief Information Officer-Solutions and Partners (CIO-SP2) contract vehicle.
The CIT supports the NIH's research and management programs with efficient, cost-effective administrative and high-powered scientific computing, software development, networking, and telecommunications services. Under the task order, SAIC will provide network operations and engineering services necessary to meet NIH's network requirements, including Chief Information Officer (CIO) support, network security, telecommunications, wireless, and cabling for NIH's scientific and administrative communities.
