SAIC Awarded $19 Million Task Order by U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC)
Company to Provide Technical Services and Functional Support for AMC's Consolidated Air Mobility Planning System (CAMPS)
MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it was awarded a task order by the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC) to provide software sustainment and development services, as well as training and functional support for AMC's Consolidated Air Mobility Planning System (CAMPS). The task order has a one year base period of performance, five one-year options, and a total value of more than $19 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in O'Fallon, Ill. The task order was awarded under the ENCORE II contract.
AMC is a Major Command of the U.S. Air Force that provides global air mobility, and airlift and aerial refueling for all of the United States' armed forces. CAMPS is AMC's command-and-control planning and scheduling system. Under the contract, SAIC will provide software sustainment and development services, as well as training and functional support to enable the effective planning and scheduling of mobility resources for airlift and tanker aircraft. SAIC will also enhance CAMPS by enabling the system to provide a more integrated view of mobility requirements, resources, and commitments; the status of air mobility planning and scheduling activities; and alternative resource options – all of which enable a more efficient use of critical assets.
"SAIC has a long history of providing support to AMC and understands the important role information technology plays in executing the command's 'Global Reach' mission," said Tom Baybrook, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "We look forward to helping AMC sustain and evolve CAMPS into a web-based architecture capable of meeting worldwide airlift and air refueling planning and scheduling needs."
