SAIC Awarded $18 Million Task Order by Naval Surface Warfare Center - Dahlgren Division
Company to Provide Systems Engineering and Analysis Services in Support of Combat Systems
MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today its was awarded a task order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) - Dahlgren Division to provide systems engineering and analysis support for combat systems. The new task order has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total value of more than $18 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Dahlgren, Va. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command SeaPort-e contract.
NSWC Dahlgren focuses on research, development, test, and evaluation in the fields of military safety testing, integrated warfare systems, weapons and ammunition, sensors and directed energy, and homeland and force (military personnel and equipment) protection. The agency translates warfighter needs into technical solutions by developing and supporting systems, technologies, concepts and tactics that enable military forces to accomplish their missions safely and effectively. Under the task order, SAIC will support NSWC Dahlgren's initiatives by helping introduce new technology into combat systems including the Littoral Combat System; Ship Self Defense System; Common Air Command and Control System; BMC4I (battle management command, control, communications, computers and intelligence) efforts; as well as data link and interoperability services. SAIC will also provide technical and engineering expertise in support of total ship and combat system engineering, and research and development. SAIC has supported NSWC Dahlgren for more than 20 years.
