SAIC Awarded $10 Million Contract By General Services Administration
Company to Provide Information Technology (IT) Strategy and Support Services to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology (OI&T)
MCLEAN, Va., May 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide information technology (IT) strategy and support services to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology (OI&T). The single-award contract has a one year base period of performance, two one-year options, and a total value of $10 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Washington, D.C.
The VA's OI&T delivers adaptable, secure and cost effective technology services across the VA enterprise, and acts as a steward for all of VA's IT assets and resources. Under the contract, SAIC will provide IT services and strategies for implementing the goals and objectives of the VA's mission. The work performed by SAIC will include: identification and implementation of organizational and project performance metrics; development and maintenance of a strategic information resources management plan; development of support functions; business strategy analysis; documentation; IT strategy training; and communications planning.
