SAIC Announces Recent Contract Awards in Healthcare
New Healthcare Business Accelerated through Acquisition of maxIT Healthcare and Vitalize Consulting Solutions
MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced several recent contract awards during the current quarter, with a total value of approximately $242 million from its government and commercial healthcare customers.
As healthcare providers look to technology for ways to improve the quality of care and drive efficiencies across business and healthcare systems, SAIC is executing a multi-pronged health solutions strategy to bolster business growth across its Federal and commercial customer base through the recent acquisitions of maxIT Healthcare and Vitalize Consulting Solutions (VCS). Working with its subsidiary companies VCS and maxIT Healthcare, healthcare business accelerated significantly in the third quarter of FY13. New contracts and work orders range from implementing electronic health record (EHR) products and systems for commercial healthcare providers, to a number of new federal programs in health information technology, life sciences, and behavioral health services.
