Safety Quick Lighting & Fans Corp. Completes Shipments of Initial Orders
ALPHARETTA, Ga., May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Safety Quick Lighting & Fans Corp. ("SQL"), a manufacturer and distributor of ceiling fans and light fixtures incorporating its patented power plug technology, today announced that it delivered shipments of approximately $2.5 million in ceiling fans against orders from two North American big box retailers. Further shipments are planned over the next few months.
SQL's patented power plug technology enables light fixtures, ceiling fans and potentially many other electrical fixtures to be safely installed to ceilings or walls, in just minutes, transforming time consuming installations into plug and play. The technology includes two main components, a male plug that is connected to the lighting or fan fixture and a female receptacle that connects to the electrical box. Once the receptacle is connected to the electrical box, a ceiling fan or light fixture equipped with the male plug can be installed and working in seconds. The connection of the plug to the receptacle is safe and includes both electrical and mechanical support. A push button conveniently located on the fixture locks and unlocks the device so that it can be safely and easily installed or removed in just seconds, with no wires to touch. The SQL power plug can be used in any voltage, giving it worldwide application.
SQL entered into a trademark license agreement with General Electric Company ("GE"), granting SQL the right to use the GE monogram on the SQL patented plug and receptacle device technologies. The SQL device is also UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certified for the US and cUL (Underwriters'Laboratories) certified for Canada.
In addition, incorporating the SQL power plug technology in lighting and ceiling fans, enables retailers to significantly increase the number of products displayed per square foot, providing consumers a larger variety of lighting fixtures and ceiling fans, as well as the option to conveniently mix and match.
"We have strategically established a dynamic infrastructure to ensure that every aspect of our business model can support demand for our technology and products. Over the last several months, we have met with the prospective buyers from several big-box retailers in North America to determine styles, volumes and logistics. We have crossed the inflection point from which our planning is materializing into orders," said John Campi, SQL's president and CEO.
According to IBISWorld, Inc., worldwide sales of lighting and fan fixtures is approximately $100 billion, annually, with the US accounting for more than $13 billion. SQL has secured manufacturing support from several world leading lighting and fan manufacturers located in China. Each manufacturer has been UL and CSA certified and has successfully undergone rigid operational, safety and quality auditing.
About Safety Quick Lighting & Fans Corp.
Safety Quick Light ("SQL") is a patented, disruptive technology that is transforming the lighting and ceiling fan industry. SQL's technology replaces the mounting bar unit built in existing electrical mounting boxes, converting it into a weight bearing plug that has no exposed wires. Using SQL's power plug, anyone can safely install ceiling and wall lights and ceiling fans in minutes. SQL's technology is UL and CSA certified. Installing a ceiling light fixture is as simple as pushing the fixture in place and pressing a button.
SQL's technology is comprised of two parts: a female receptacle that is secured to existing electrical boxes, into which electrical and ground wires are simply inserted and locked into holes on the device, and a male plug that is preinstalled on the lighting or fan fixture. Once the female piece is attached to the electrical box, any lighting or fan fixture into which the male plug is incorporated can be installed in literally seconds. SQL's technology will be pre-installed in all types of lighting fixtures, including holiday themed lighting, and ceiling fans, for both indoor and outdoor use.
