Safety-Kleen Expands Trackside Environmental Services for American Drag Racing League
PLANO, Texas, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Drag racing and environmental responsibility are now working hand-in-hand thanks to an extended relationship between Safety-Kleen and the American Drag Racing League (ADRL). Throughout 2010, Safety-Kleen will provide environmental services and work with ADRL tracks and teams, including all nine U.S. national events, to implement a variety of green initiatives aimed at reducing drag racing's environmental impact.
Safety-Kleen is the Official Environmental Service Provider for the ADRL tour and is the presenting sponsor of the ADRL event at the Houston Raceway Park.
Safety-Kleen will provide environmental services at South Georgia Motorsports Park, Virginia Motorsports Park, U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, Heartland Park Topeka, Houston Raceway Park, Gateway International, Rockingham, Summit Motorsports Park, and Texas Motorplex.
At each track, Safety-Kleen will promote responsible collection of all used oil, fuels, solvent, oil filter and absorbent materials, much of which will be recycled, and will be on site at racing events to offer race teams various environmentally-friendly cleaning and absorbent products.
"Safety-Kleen and the American Drag Racing League and their teams have had a long-term relationship and we are excited to see it expanded to include a solid program for environmental responsibility," said Eric Zimmer, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Safety-Kleen. "Both the tracks and the teams recognize the need for implementing higher standards for recycling and re-use, and Safety-Kleen is here to support them."
"Safety-Kleen is a friend of racing and particularly a friend of the ADRL," said ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune. "Together we can reduce the sport's impact on the environment and help promote the safe and responsible collection of used automotive fluids at our tracks."
