Safety 1st Outsmart Multi-Use Lock named finalist in 2015 JPMA Innovation Award
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dorel Juvenile, a segment of Dorel Industries (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), and the world's largest juvenile products manufacturer, brings safety and design innovation to the 2015 ABC Kids Expo with several first-of-their kind products from Safety 1st. In addition to product development, Safety 1st also offers an industry-first online customer service program to help parents keep their children safe.
At the Expo, Safety 1st is unveiling its OutSmart Collection™; a parent's secret weapon to keep kids out of cabinets, drawers, doors, outlets and more. Each product features a non-functional "decoy" button at the center of the product that redirects your child's attention. The actual activation buttons are hidden under a smooth surface that requires a two-finger squeeze to open.
The Safety 1st OutSmart Multi-Use Lock was named a finalist for the 2015 JPMA Innovation Award in the Safety category by a selection committee of trade media representatives and industry retail buyers. The Safety 1st OutSmart Multi-Use Lock can be seen at Dorel Juvenile's booth #801 as well as on display in the Innovation Award exhibit at the ABC Kids Expo on the show floor within the JPMA booth #4447. The Safety 1st OutSmart Collection™ will launch in retail in early 2016.
"Each year we aim to develop new products and offerings that lead the juvenile industry in innovation and invention," said Paul Powers, President, Dorel Juvenile USA. "We are thrilled to showcase our OutSmart Collection, along with the Step and Go and other Dorel Juvenile products which are leading the market in safety."
Also on the Expo floor will be the Safety 1st Step and Go™ Travel System, a first-of-its-kind stroller that features the only step-to-open design on the market, allowing for hands-free setup and easy on-the-go travel. The Safety 1st Step and Go is also the only stroller to offer a machine-washable and dryer-safe stroller seat pad.
In addition to innovative products, Safety 1st is taking strides with their online services to offer swift customer help in a variety of ways. A new video-conferencing customer service program based out of Dorel Juvenile's Columbus, Indiana headquarters offers face-to-face customer instruction to aid with car seat installation and other product issues. To date, more than 340 customers have been helped via video conferencing. Also, a relaunch of the Safety 1st website, www.safety1st.com, offers new customer portals with self-help tips, articles, forums, and a home safety calculator to help guide you in the safety purchases that best meet you and your child's needs.
