The British Safety Council will join the likes of the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF), the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) as key supporters of the show. In 2015 the British Safety Council will be hosting seminar content relating to International Risk Management.
Alex Botha, Chief Executive, British Safety Council, said:
"The British Safety Council is delighted to be supporting Safety & Health Expo. We have been impressed by how Safety & Health Expo has re-invigorated itself in the UK market and has started to make major inroads abroad. We believe that supporting the Expo is a great way of promoting our vision that no one should be injured or made ill at work."
The exhibition, formally hosted at the NEC Birmingham, will be run at London ExCeL, June 17-19 2014. The show has grown by a massive 30%, the first period of growth for many years. Over 330 companies will be exhibiting the latest and best in occupational health and safety products and service. Over 20% of exhibitors will be international, highlighting the important role that the show plays globally.
The exhibition will be co-locating with the IOSH 2014 Conference, CoreSkills+, RoSPA awards and LiftEx.
Heather Beach, Director, OSH Global, said:
"We are thrilled with this endorsement by one of the leading industry bodies. We are incredibly proud of the British health and safety industry, the best in the world. Our mission is to continue to be the UK show, but also increase our international participation and positively influence the world of health and safety. Having all the major industry bodies behind one event sends a strong message to the market, both domestically and globally.
In addition to the memorandum of understanding, the British Safety Council has also announced its support for the inaugural Health and Safety Week, running from June 16-20. It has been organised to celebrate the 85% reduction that UK has achieved in fatal accidents since the introduction of the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974. The week is being launched by Lawrence Waterman, OBE, Director of Health and Safety, Battersea Power Station Development Company on June 17 at the Safety & Health Expo.
Safety & Health Expo is being presented as part of UBM Live's protection and management series, six major shows in related marketplaces covering safety, energy, environment, facilities, security and fire. Visitors will have free entry across all six shows, with access to 18 educational theatres and the 1,400 companies participating on the show floors.
