Safe Rx Announces New Vice President for Pharmacy Sector

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Jan. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Safe Rx LLC, a manufacturer and marketer of locking prescription vials (LPVs) used by pharmacies and veterinarians in dispensing controlled substances, today announced the appointment of Anthony Dolan as its Vice President of Pharmacy Sales and Marketing.

Dolan draws on more than 30 years of experience in building and leading pharmacy sales and delivery teams, including 18 years at the McKesson Corporation, most recently serving as Vice President & General Manager of the Northwest Region. With additional experience on the payer side and in retail pharmacy, Dolan brings knowledge of the entire pharmacy sector value chain to Safe Rx.  Dolan has a BS in Pharmacy from Oregon State University and a MBA from the University of Portland.

Drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the United States.  Prescription drugs are the number one gateway to heroin addiction and have become the most commonly abused substances among 12 and 13-year-olds, with pilfering from family medicine cabinets the leading source for teen abuse.

In 2015, the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health published an extensive opioid report recommending research into the effectiveness of more secure packaging, following the U.S. FDA's request for comment in 2013 on using innovative packaging solutions as a response to the prescription drug abuse epidemic.
