Safe in Common Sponsors National Nurse Executives Conference
Non-Profit to discuss Needlestick Safety Campaign during American Organization of Nurse Executives Conference
BOSTON, March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Safe in Common, a non-profit organization of healthcare safety advocates, announced today their sponsorship and support of the 45th annual American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) conference as part of the Organization's nationwide campaign to raise awareness of needlestick safety among healthcare personnel.
Safe in Common will introduce the Needlestick Safety Advocacy Tour (NSAT) as part of its sponsorship of the AONE conference, March 21, 2012. Beginning March 2012, Safe in Common's NSAT will visit U.S. hospitals and healthcare conferences across the nation, including AONE on March 21-24 at the Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston St., Boston, MA.
"Safe in Common fully supports the AONE 2012 theme 'on the precipice of change/the courage to lead' as it embodies our goal of educating and protecting nurses and other healthcare personnel from the dangers of needlesticks," said Dr. Mary Foley, Chairperson of Safe in Common. "We have a common belief that more can be done to protect healthcare workers, that the federal standards for needlestick prevention are no longer a healthcare policy priority, and that there is a need for more awareness and safer devices to better protect those at most risk of harm."
During the AONE conference, Safe in Common will engage with healthcare personnel to hear their concerns, record their real stories, raise their hopes and unite them behind the creation of a workplace environment that is free from the risk of needlestick injury.
