SAE International Launches Websites in Eight Different Languages
WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As part of its global strategy, key portions of SAE International's website now are available in eight different languages, in addition to English. The eight additional languages are Brazilian/Portuguese, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
While by no means a complete list of languages, these eight new websites help provide an important entree into SAE International's full complement of programs, products and services, especially its technical standard and papers.
"SAE International already has a strong international presence, especially online," David L. Schutt, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of SAE International said. "These new native-language websites are the first of many steps we are taking to continue to serve the global mobility engineering community. It's all about service and mission."
The new websites are three levels deep and include more than 200 pages of translated information. Visitors can drill down to find information in a format that is easier to read and navigate. Eventually, visitors are directed to the already existing, English-version page for a program, product or service.
SAE International worked with SDL, which specializes in Global Information Management, to develop and create the new pages, which went live at the end of June. The new pages have a similar look and feel to SAE International's current website pages. In addition to SAE's full complement of programs, products and services, the pages feature many of the organization's global programs, products and services.
"SDL provides proven expertise and technical know-how; and we are pleased to be working with such a recognized leader in language services and customer experience management," Dr. Schutt said.
SAE International is a global association of more than 133,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial-vehicle industries. SAE International's core competencies are life-long learning and voluntary consensus standards development. SAE International's charitable arm is the SAE Foundation, which supports many programs, including A World In Motion® and the Collegiate Design Series™.
